Jenchieh Hung is recognized as one of the leading architects of his generation, acclaimed for his innovative designs featured in the “World Architects Directory” by Wallpaper* magazine in the United Kingdom. Hung is a co-founder of HAS design and research with Kulthida Songkittipakdee, establishing an internationally recognized architectural design practice. In his work, Hung uses architecture to create emotional spaces and historical experiences that bridge the past and future. He demonstrates exceptional skill and sensitivity in his use of materials, while addressing both local socioeconomic and global ecological issues with sincere attention. HAS design and research has gained international acclaim through winning competition entries, known for their synthesis of form, pattern, material, and technology into unique, cohesive constructions. Their projects have earned widespread recognition on global platforms, featuring in prominent publications such as The Best Architects in Bangkok, Six Asian Design Firms You Need to Know, and The Projects Reshaping Chinese Architecture Today. HAS design and research’s innovative work has been celebrated with numerous awards and honors, including the Australia INDE. Award, Thailand Prestige Award, and Designer of the Year Award. In addition to his design practice, Jenchieh Hung has served as a Visiting Professor and Design Critic in Architecture at Tongji University, Chulalongkorn University, and King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. He has also been a Guest Editor of the Journal of the Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA).
