Reflection on Thai Identities in Airport Design

Abstract

With the globalization have effect on Thai culture, with such a modern building facilities and complex that costed the society lack of Identity (Horayangkura, The Creation of Modern Thai Architectural Identity, 2015). We are still finding Modern Thai Identity for large-compound building that have important role in National scale such as National Convention Center, Cultural Center, etc. (Horayangkura, In Revealing Mordern Thai Architectural Identity, 2017). Because of the largescale building have the large number of visitors approach it daily and specially the Airport compound where space that accommodated both global and local population as the Nation of Region gateways (Horayangkura, The Creation of Modern Thai Architectural Identity, 2015).

Therefore, attention of this paper is to discover the Thai identity injected in the Airport compound and analyze the existing Airport in Thailand. In order to concluding the potential and guideline for National Identity in Airport Design. This research methodology will include.
1. Reviewing concepts and theory of Identities
2. Researching on Airport compound in Thailand
3. Data analysis and taxonomy
4. Conclusion and Suggestion for Airport Design in Thailand
