Thermal Comfort Condition in Manufacturing Building
Abstract
The main objective of this study was to investigate the existing condition of the manufacturing building in hot-humid climate, in the conditions of when the natural air circulated inside the manufacturing building and when the installed ventilation system
were used to help improving indoor thermal comfort of naturally ventilated air circulation within the building. The current thermal comfort temperature of the manufacturing building are exceeded the recommended temperature by the Law due to the blockage from the sun shading device from the main wind direction causing the indoor temperature to raise throughout the day. The field observation were conducted to study the overall condition, field measurements was conducted in two separate times, 1) by observing the temperature, the humidity and wind speed without the interference from the ventilations system using DAVM+ reader device . ii) Observes the same environment after the ventilations system has turned on for few hours also using the DAVM+ reader device. The result related to the field studied showed that the indoor temperature dropped for about 1.3 Celsius to 2.5 Celsius between the two field studied. But the thermal comfort temperature is still exceeded the recommended temperature by the Law. Using the collective data from the field studied to articulate the possibility of the most suitable direction to install the ventilations system for
the most effective wind movement of the indoor air movement, The emphasis was on reducing the temperature to the recommended temperature as the average temperature throughout the entire manufacturing area for bodily cooling by cross ventilation.
